I’m your guide, Robin
I view astrology as a psychological tool in understanding myself, others, and how to interact with the world. Astrology has helped me validate who I am, why I tick the way I do, appreciate my strengths, and acknowledge my weaknesses. My goal is to help others see and understand these aspects in themselves, and to unlock some confidence in themselves to accept (and love) their unique planetary placements.
The who, what, where, and how
In every birth chart, there are planets, signs, and houses.
The who is you: your unique chart set up.
The planets are the action; they are the ‘what’.
The sign is ‘how’ we do the action.
The 'where' is the house in which we do the said action.
The aspects are how certain planets may play off of each other in a chart.
Who am I, and what are my qualifications?
I am a woman in my 50s who experienced a massive whole-life transformation in my 40s. My husband of 23 years died unexpectedly, and I was facing life as a widow at 45 with three teenage kids.
Following my husband’s death, I went through an identity crisis. Who was I? I got married at 22, and up until that time, I had followed a stringent code of what to believe and how to behave. It was black and white, right and wrong, this not that. It was exhausting and limiting. I had so diminished my inner light to be in alignment with my husband, with my parents, with my religion; I wasn’t exactly sure who I was anymore, aside from being a mom. I felt alone and unsure of what steps to take to rebuild my life.
I started therapy; I started meditation and yoga practices; and I deconstructed from evangelical Christianity and am now at peace as an Agnostic.
During my therapy sessions, my therapist and I clicked on so many topics. She was a Jungian psychologist. I had studied Carl Jung while getting my undergraduate degree, and I always identified with his beliefs. Carl Jung was a friend and contemporary of Sigmund Freud. The basics of Jungian theory are as follows:
Jungian psychology, also known as analytical psychology, focuses on the integration of the conscious and unconscious mind to achieve personal growth and self-realization. It emphasizes the role of archetypes, the collective unconscious, and the process of individuation in understanding human behavior and personality.
One more thing about Jung? He believed in astrology. In 1955 Carl Jung said this about astrology, “The basic meaning of the horoscope is that, by mapping out the positions of the planets and their relations to one another (aspects), together with the distribution of the signs of the zodiac at the cardinal points, it gives a picture first of the psychic and then of the physical constitution of the individual. It represents, in essence, a system of original and fundamental qualities in a person’s character, and can therefore be regarded as an equivalent of the individual psyche.”
In other words, understanding who we are at our core better equips us to evolve into our best selves and relate to others with more insight.
Our natal chart IS our unique fingerprint given to us the moment we were born and took our first breath. It is a tool to take a deep dive into understanding and accepting ourselves. Only when we are comfortable and at peace with our inner selves can we be capable of making connections with others.
With my degrees in Child Development and Education, I understand how the human brain works and how the average person moves about in this world. I also know how to take in a lot of information, process it, and break it down into simple concepts for others to understand. I use these skills in breaking down natal birth charts into bite-sized pieces that anyone can digest.
